My Pet (Again)

My Pet (Again)

I don´t clearly know which animal is my favorite. Could be dogs, because of their loyalty, hamsters, because I have one (and many through the years), or maybe raccoons, because they are too adorable … but hard to care. So, I think that I will talk about my hamster (again), that doesn´t have a name, so I call it “Pekeño”. Yes, without the Q and neither the U.

He is with me since his born, like 21st or 22nd of July of 2016. We just found him inside the little house that his parents had in the cage, so, I am not very sure about his birthday.
When he grew up, I notice the physical similarities with his parents. He has the hair of his mother, and the size and eyes of his father, with their deep way of looking. He also is a bit like me, quiet, plump and loves to stay in home … and also with a disheveled hair.

Unfortunately, his “childhood” (as we speak) wasn´t very good. I remember one day, I don´t remember the date, that he looks like he was extremely stressed, tired, and too weak to continue. That because his dad was very aggressive with him, and beat him up sometimes. Pekeño only run away. In that “weak” moment, I leave him with his mom, because “maternal instinct”, meanwhile, I cleaned his cage and left him food. Sadly, she also hit him, and (like he was extremely weak) I freak out and shout her.
I thought that he was not capable to survive… but here he is.

Another of his stories, but this is more like a happy story, is about his name. Like you know, his name is “Pekeño”, but his last name, or more like his nickname, is Houdini. Why? Because one day, we were in the living room, my fathers and me, and we listen a noise from his cage. All three of us saw him trying to escape, but in a very particular way. With his nose he lifted the padlock that locks (obviously) the floor of the cage. After that he pushes all the tin floor with his body, and escape. That leave us very amazed, and like 'in shock', because of his intelligence.

Pekeño is my friend, a little, plump and cute friend. He always is running in his wheel, looking at me probably asking “Why don´t you give me all the food of that jar!?”

  1. Hamsters are very intelligent animals, very instinct. I remember when I had my hamster, my parents were very surprise to discover that they save some food for bad times, that's brilliant hahaha
